1 . 29% INCREASE IN THE SOWING WHEAT AT RAJASTHAN STATE
As per the exclusive details received by the Market Times sowing of wheat has
increased by 29% to 17400 hectares. Last year during the same period the
sowing was only in 13500 hectares.
For ongoing season sowing of wheat target was reduced to 30 lakh hectare
against 32 lakh in the previous year.Average sowing area during the last
five years was at 27.50 lakh hectares.
2 . EXCLUSIVE BARLEY’S SOWING DATA
Sowing area of Barley in Rajasthan has increased around 50% during current
year. As per the information received by MARKET sowing area of Barley is
8100 hectares till October 2014 almost 50% more against last year’s area
which is 5400 hectares. Target set by the Rajasthan State Government is 3.50 lakh
hectares against 3.20 lakh hectare in last year.As against target of 3.20 lakh hectare
in last year the actual sowing area was only 2.74 lakh hectare.
3. PRICES AND ARRIVAL OF MAIZE
Maize recorded fall in its arrival in the mandis of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana,
and Pujab on Thursday. In Andhra Pradesh maize arrival fell 21 tons and recorded 25 tons.
Telangana registered the biggest slum in arrival of maize and it fell by 1,918 tons.
Arrival of maize was recorded in the mandis of Telangana 433 tons on Thursday.
In Punjab, maize arrival reduced 6 tons to 21 tons. Prices of maize rose Rs. 350 to
Rs. 1,300 per quintal in Narela mandi of Delhi on Thursday. On Wednesday,
maize prices increased by Rs.18 to Rs. 1,270 in the mandi located at Lorence
road, Delhi. Maize traded at Rs.1,170 at khanna mandi of Punjab on
Thursday. NCDEX warehouses registered390 tons rise in maize stocks.
NCDEX stocks of maize were recorded 18,311.
